There are a number of programs for you whether you are starting out, looking to take your business to the next level, or just want to make your business more efficient. Select one of the categories below for a list of programs and descriptions.

Business Operating Assistance

Washington State Small Business Development Center
Provides no-fee, confidential counseling on management topics. Though one-on-one work with business counselors, you can get free business planning, research, merchandising, advertising, purchasing or selling a business, record keeping, taxes and more. There are multiple offices in the area. More information can be found at the WSBDC website (www.wsbdc.org)

Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE)
SCORE volunteers are working and retired business owners, educators and professionals. They can help with starting a business, marketing, sales, growth management, leadership assistance and other business related issues. Visit the SCORE website for more information (www.score.org) .

The Washington State Office of Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises
OMWBE provides assistance to private businesses in identifying opportunities for qualified firms. Also partners with SBA to provide training and financing programs. For more information, call (866) 208-1064 or visit the department’s website (www.omwbe.wa.gov).

Additional Financing Assistance

The Small Business Administration (SBA)
The SBA is a part of the federal government and networks with multiple community resources. The local SBA office is in Seattle and can be reached at (206) 553-7310 or at their website (www.sba.gov/wa/seattle/index.html)

Finding Qualified Employees

Worksource King County
Worksource offers an array of free services to businesses. These include finding qualified applicants, marketing current openings, access to current labor information and resources for working with people with disabilities. The Bellevue office can be reached at (425) 564-2279 and more information can be found on the Worksource website (www.worksourceskc.org)
