Newcastle Ordinance #2004-286
requires alarm monitoring companies to have a Newcastle Business License and Alarm System Operator’s License to conduct business within the city. The State of Washington's Business Licensing Service issues city business licenses. Alarm system operator's licenses are issued by submitting an alarm system operator's license application
directly to the city.
Monitoring companies must register and pay an annual fee for each alarm system they monitor in the City of Newcastle. Homeowners do not register their alarms, only the monitoring companies need to register.
Fines for police responses to False Alarms will also be assessed to the monitoring companies.
To register your alarm system monitoring company with the City of Newcastle, first obtain a Newcastle Business License through the State of Washington. Then submit an Alarm Systems Operator License application to the City that includes a listing of monitored devices located in the city and all applicable fees. Cash or credit card options are available if paying in person.
