Looking for a Notary Public? City Hall has two Notaries on staff to help you. Call 425-649-4444 or email cityclerk@ci.newcastle.wa.us to make an appointment. Aleta or Bob are happy to help and often on the same day!
Here are some simple rules regarding Notary services:
- Notaries cannot give legal advice.
- Notaries cannot sign a document that does not contain some kind of legally acceptable notary acknowledgement or jurat.
- Signers must personally appear before a Notary can complete the transaction.
- Signers must have acceptable identification, bearing their signature.
While many other rules and regulations apply to each notarial act, the process is usually simple and quickly completed. We look forward to serving you.
The City of Newcastle requires businesses doing business
in Newcastle and business located in Newcastle to have
a City Business License.
The fee is $31 and the license
expires on December 31 of each year. Non-Profit Organizations
must also complete and application however if a 501C
form is attached, the $31 fee will be waived.
If your
business is located in your home in Newcastle, you
must also submit a Home Occupation Permit with your Business License Application.
Dogs and cats living in Newcastle require pet licenses.
Effective July 1, 2010, King County will now handle pet licensing for the City of Newcastle.
You may obtain licenses on-line via their website at: kingcounty.gov/safety/Animal Services/licensing/licenseapplication.aspx.

Newcastle Ordinance
#2004-286 requires alarm monitoring
companies to have a City Business License and an Alarm System Operator’s License to conduct business
in Newcastle.
Monitoring companies must register and
pay an annual fee for each alarm system they monitor
in the City of Newcastle.
Fines for police responses
to False Alarms will also be assessed to the monitoring
companies.
To register your company with the City of
Newcastle, submit a City
Business License Application and an Alarm
Systems Operator License along with a
listing of monitored devices located in the City and
applicable fees to City Hall.
Public records include official city records such
as ordinances, resolutions, city council meeting minutes,
and other essential documents that have been acted
upon by the Newcastle City Council.
It is the City' s policy to respond within five business
days of receiving a request by either:
- Providing
the record
- Acknowledging receipt of the request
and providing a reasonable estimate of time required
to respond
- Denying the request
The time necessary (as allowed by
state statute), to produce records varies according
to the volume.

copies of public records or additional information regarding the

Lake Boren Park picnic shelters are available for use by submitting a Parks Facilities Use Application to City Hall. Hours of Availability: 8:00AM to 10:00PM (or dusk)
The Community Room at City Hall is available for use by submitting a Community Room Use Application.
